Sadly, Supreme court upholds Prop 8

I don’t really know what to say, other than this:

I think it’s tragically funny that the people who fight so hard to uphold ‘traditional marriage’ never stop to consider they might have a gay kid one day.

And:

Anything worth having is worth fighting for. This hardship will only ensure we do everything to uphold the victory once we’ve gained it.

If you believe in equality for all, then it’s time to start showing up.

I will be attending a rally in West Hollywood tonight to show my support for the LGBT community.

Here is a link to Perez Hilton’s post on where to find a rally near you: http://perezhilton.com/2009-05-26-whats-next

To all of the beautiful Queers out there: Don’t give up! Keep reminding your straight friends how important this matter is to you, keep spreading the message and DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE!!!

To all of the tyrants that insist on fighting against love: You’re lame and the whole universe knows it. There is nothing that bugs the universe more than the tiny little parasites who get in the way of the spreading of love. You are the fleas on its back. A few more baths and your time will be up. So catch up already and stop wasting everyone’s time because love ALWAYS wins in the end. And that, as they say, is that.

Now taste the Rainbow, b*tches!

  3. thanks! support from peeps like you means a lot more than you know!

  4. I’m so happy you’re an ally. This whole ordeal feels like such an up-hill battle; I’m 21 and have been debating this issue and trying to promote change since I was in high school. I live in Australia (the most gay friendly place on earth – hello, Mardi Gras!) and same-sex marriage still isn’t legally recognised here. Our Government released a statement a month ago, stating that the decision to ban same-sex marriage “reflects the widely held view in the community that marriage is between a man and a woman” despite polls, indicating that the majority of Australians support same-sex marriage.

I think it’s a widely held view that discrimination of any kind is bad. Growing up, feeling different and out of place was hard enough – politicians need to open their collective eyes and realise that this is a civil rights issue – not an issue to be voted on.

Keep up the good work E, we love you! :D

  5. Thank you for being a part of one of the many rallys that were held today. Just like Matt said, it means a lot to know you and other celebrities are on our side.
